Job Description
Purpose & Accountabilities:
Purpose:
This position reports to the SOV Front End Manager and is responsible for for generating the inventory of potential future drilling opportunities and associated development plans. The Geoscientist is responsible for generating the necessary subsurface evaluations and possible scenarios to under build the subsurface understanding of the play, to provide input into the ranking of play segments.
Accountabilities:
Plan Exploration & de-risking activities.
Contribute to high level and refined Area Strategies
Provide static modelling, structural and property mapping, area outlines and risk assessments for use in asset Playbooks;
Identify key uncertainties and design data acquisition activities
Participation in JV matters;
Authorities & regulators tech representative
Contribute to after action reviews to improve HSE and unit development cost performance.
Interfaces:
In addition, this individual will be expected to work effectively with other teams in the asset and the broader Unconventionals organization
Dimensions
The Argentina Technical Asset Team consists of around 28 technical subsurface staff and technicians.
Requirements
Demonstrated personal commitment to safety and the environment.
Fully competent Geoscientist +10y
Use and update Petrel structural models with operational well data is required.
Experience in Well Planning and Operations
Demonstrated focus on HSSE
Unconventional business experience is required
Inquisitive nature, examining both Shell and external ways of working to implement best practices for field development and/or surveillance
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with the full range of multi-discipline technical staff.
Demonstrated aptitude to adopting new ways of working
Proficiency in Spanish and English
