Operations Readiness Engineer

The role of the OR Engineer is key in the project management team. The incumbent will ensure, on behalf of the Asset Owner / Asset Manager, that Production readiness and Asset Owner Readiness is achieved for the project.

The OR Engineer will play a critical role in helping to deliver the projects using company standards, processes, and procedures.

The objective of Operations Readiness & Commissioning and Start-up (OR & CSU) is to:

  • ensure that facilities are designed and built to agreed standards and start up flawlessly

  • provide assurance that the future Asset Owner is fully prepared to receive, operate and maintain the facilities

To accomplish this the person has to:

  • Provide input to Front End and Detailed Design, Cost & Schedule.

  • Work with discipline Technical Authorities to provide the required Control Points identified in the Project’s Control & Assurance Plan.

  • Ensure Operational Readiness and participate in Project Assurance Reviews.

  • Participate in Engineering Readiness Reviews.

  • Participate in Construction Readiness Reviews.

  • Participate in Project Execution Reviews.

  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing.

  • Ensure Project’s deliverables are input into the Asset’s systems.

  • Ensure readiness of the Asset to operate, maintain and manage the new facilities.

  • Participate in Mechanical Walkthroughs.

  • Lead Pre-Start Up Audits.

  • Participate in management and closure of deficiencies.

  • Participate in pre-Commissioning activities.

  • Facilitate approval of the Statement of Fitness.

  • Participate in Site Acceptance Testing.

  • Participate in Commissioning & Start Up.

  • Participate in Performance Testing of the new facilities.

  • Handover the facility to the Asset.

  • Participate in Project After Action Reviews.

Requirements

Experience and Qualifications required:

Qualifications: Degree in Engineering (Civil, Chemical, Mechanical or similar)

Experience: More than (+6) years technical or operations professionals with a background in either of Production/ Maintenance Operations, Asset management and/or Project supervision (e.g.Commissioning) with demonstrable experience in the areas of interest for the job.

Deep experience in part of, or the entire, ORP Project life cycle (from front-end development,

conceptual design through to final commissioning and handover), with the relevant experience in implementation of CSU/OR as well as working experience in Production Operations organisations (Upstream and/or Downstream)

Must be a self-start, highly motivated lead with a proven track record.

Fully conversant with Project Management Systems with extensive knowledge of

Proven leadership and organizational skills and strong personal drive in order to meet deadlines and specific targets.

Ability to work independently but also as a part of a multi discipline, multi-cultural team.

Good communication and analytical skills are essential.
